作丈夫的要愛妻子，像基督愛教會，為教會捨己。 作妻子的要順服丈夫，像教會順服基督，可是有的教會不順服聖經…，所以最起碼，作妻子的要順服丈夫，像撒拉順服亞伯拉罕。如果妻子凶悍、粗暴、無情的待丈夫，他們又有兒子，那兒子可能會看不起爸爸，因而不但得不到爸爸父系方的祝福，甚而自己也可能成為冷血、冷酷、粗暴的人。所以作妻子的一定要溫柔。妻子再愛主、再愛召會、再有恩賜、再有愛心、有再高的社經地位、再會賺錢，如果待丈夫不溫柔，她的丈夫會很痛苦，那是一種靈性和精神層面的折磨。
